Comfortaire Bed Comfortaire beds are high-end air mattresses designed to provide better support than traditional mattresses. Comfortaire beds are similar in concept to waterbeds, without the weight and other problems associated with waterbeds, such as water treatment and condition, filling and refilling - and air mattresses provide support evenly. Unlike most water mattresses, air mattresses can fully adjusted to your individual needs and can also be adjusted separately from your sleep partner. Some air mattresses are completely air-filled and some are a combination of air and cushion. Some of the major brands of air mattresses are Select Comfort, Comfortaire, Sleep Comfort and Luxury Air Beds.

The top section of the mattress is constructed of latex foam for an extremely soft feel. Latex foam offers many advantages over traditional mattress material. Latex foam molds itself to the contours of the sleepers’ bodies and supports them firmly. The millions of interconnected cells are self-ventilating, keeping the mattress cool and extending the life of the mattress. It is extremely resilient and retains its shape - and latex foam does not retain moisture, so mold is not a problem with the mattress. Body perspiration is quickly dissipated and passed out of the matress. Latex foam is bacteriostatic and has bacteriocidal properties. Research shows that latex foam does not harbor insects such as dust mites, which are common in traditional fabric mattresses. For this reason, hospitals use latex foam almost exclusively. Studies have shown that latex foam does not have to be sterilized.
The Comfortaire Bed is adjusted manually with a remote control system. The hand control unit has 100 unique settings for each side of the mattress, allowing you to adjust each side independently. Your own personal firmness number can be stored in memory so that you never have to worry about remembering what setting is best for you. The Comfortaire Bed employs the IFC 2000, a one-touch unit used to fill your mattress to it’s fullest. Typically you would fully inflate the mattress for a clean, crisp look when not using it and then, when you are ready for bed, you can return the mattress to your own exact comfort setting at the touch of a button on your hand control unit. The Comfortaire Bed uses a patented WhisperFlo system, which, when adjusted with the hand control unit, allows you to choose from 100 different levels of firmness.

A Comfortaire Bed is an adjustable air mattress that uses latex and cotton construction to house air filled compartments to provide support, rather than the springs of traditional mattresses. The mattress is combined with a zippered top cover and a premium ticking with two layers of super-soft foam and a layer of 991 Dacron fiber, which is quilted to the ticking to provide plush comfort.
Comfortaire mattresses come in a variety of design, style and material choices. One of the features of Comfortaire beds is the Intense fabric cover. During the day your body's natural electrical field can build up a static charge of up to 30,000 volts, leaving you feeling tense, nervous or agitated. Intense mattress’ cover fabric uses an ultra-fine multi-filament carbon fiber thread. This fiber captures electrons in the surrounding area and discharges them at low voltage. This means the tension in your body that’s been built up all day flows out of you while you sleep, adding to a good night’s rest. An added feature of this fiber in the fabric is that it repels dust, which is helpful for those who suffer from allergies from dust, pollen or pet dander. |
Another advantage of the Comfortaire Bed is that the air mattress is built to last a lifetime. Some settling and wear may occur in the foam pad or the covering, but instead of replacing the entire mattress as you would have to with a traditional coil spring mattress, with a Comfortaire Bed all you need to do is replace the covering. You can also remove the fabric cover and have it steam-cleaned to keep it fresh and like new.
Overall, the Comfortaire Bed is an excellent example of air mattress technology, which has become increasingly popular in recent years. The continued innovations in materials only serve to make these mattresses more appealing.
